We have listed below playground grants to apply for in Alberta.
Alberta Recycling Management Authority – Community Development Funds (TRMA)
Up to $30,000 per applicant is available to Municipalities, Indigenous communities, schools, and registered non-profit organizations to help purchase recycled tire products for community projects such as playgrounds, spray park surfacing, ice rink arenas, walking trails, or pool decks.
Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP)
Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP) funding provides financial assistance of up to $125,000 to acquire, build, purchase, repair, renovate, upgrade or expand sports, recreational, cultural or other related public-use community facilities. There is also a large funding stream of up to $1M for bigger more complex project like a large spray park or park development.
New School Grant for Playgrounds
The Alberta government now provides $250,000 for new schools that need a playground. Eligible schools being built on a new site without an existing playground will qualify.
Neighbourhood Park Development Program (NPDP)
The City of Edmonton Neighbourhood Park Development Program (NPDP) provides funding to support improvements to parks at the neighbourhood level.
Community play space grants help individuals and organizations improve their neighbourhoods. These grants can range from $5,000 to $20,000 and act as a small source of assistance to supplement funds from other sources.
Blue Cross Healthy Community Grant Program
Alberta Blue Cross awards four $50,000 grants each year to support community amenities and facilities that promote active living. Examples of projects that support active living could include construction or replacement of children’s playgrounds, outdoor adult gyms, cycling paths, and recreational facility improvements.
Community Initiatives Program (CIP) funds initiatives that enhance and enrich communities throughout Alberta by providing grants of $25,000 to $250,000 for qualifying projects.
The Building Communities Grant can be used for the development of new or improved community-led park or playground projects.
